In December 1999, the Leloaleng Manufacturing Center was fortunate to receive funding from Friends of Lesotho to cover costs of producing and mailing statements to customers with past due accounts. Leloaleng Manufacturing Center provides quality furniture to schools, churches, and individuals primarily in the districts of Mafeteng, Mohale's Hoek, Qacha's Nek and Quthing. Like many businesses in Lesotho, the manufacturing center has experienced severe financial difficulties in the past few years. The completion of this project will provide the center with the potential to collect up to R45,000.00 which can be used to pay employee wages, purchase materials for orders and increase the daily operating capital fund. With the help of the Office Assistant, we were able to finalize the letters and post the statements on 1, February 2000. With any luck, we will collect all of the outstanding balances.

Thanks to you and the numerous returned volunteers for the continued support of the Friends of Lesotho program. With your assistance volunteers are able to obtain funding for small but equally important projects without any bureaucracy. I know that I am not alone in saying your efforts are greatly appreciated.
