Update: I have received word that the director, Andrew Mudge, is seeking input from PCVs and others to suggest scene locations. He says he's looking for "amazing villages in a particularly beautiful areas. I mean, there are beautiful locations all over the country. But maybe someone out there can recall some place that has something really unique about it..." Please contact him if you have ideas.

WebRings: Through what seems to be an unfortunate set of circumstances, the RPCV Web Ring has been taken from the original founder. Sites are in the process of migrating to a new RPCV web ring, but the process is not complete. Therefore, I am leaving links to both rings below. The new ring is run by the original Ring Master, Jeanne, RPCV Kenya. No one seems to know who is in control of the old ring, or even if it's an RPCV.

For Returned Peace Corps Volunteers:
Crisis Corps - a chance to serve again

As part of Peace Corps' HIV/AIDS initiative, Crisis Corps is placing short term (usually six months) volunteers who have experience working in an HIV/AIDS field. Some of the projects CCVs have worked on throughout Africa are:

Kenya: Working with the Ministry of Health, CCVs developed a training manual for post-HIV test counselors and for family members that includes bereavement counseling and support group facilitation.

Namibia: A CCV worked to destigmatize HIV by promoting a new HIV Multipurpose Center to the community, facilitating workshops for People Living with AIDS, and working with staff to develop and implement new programs at the Center.

Malawi: Several Volunteers worked at an orphanage providing support to teachers in developing HIV/AIDS educational materials and working with the medical staff to create a post-test counseling system.

Togo: Three CCVs are working with local HIV/AIDS NGOs in Lome to coordinate their efforts and provide capacity building training.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting opportunity to serve again, please call (800-424-8580 ext. 2250) or email the CC office, or visit the Crisis Corps website for current assignment listings and an application.
