Bookmarks and Luggage Tags from Lesotho

These bookmarks are made by Peter Maphatsoe, who founded the Children’s Art Organization of Lesotho. He is a 23-year-old self-taught artist who is trying to make money to support his dream to teach art to children in Lesotho. Each picture is hand-painted and represents some aspect of traditional Basotho culture. Among them you will find:

The faculty of CTSL using a basic PC and a simple microphone recorded the music for this CD. Considering that they didn’t have two microphones, a mixer or a sound room the quality is very good. My involvement other than the teaching them how in early classes was to stand in the back of the room and observe. I was not present for the last recording session of ten songs. I am very proud of them. I hope you enjoy this music and that it brings back fond memories of your time in Lesotho.
